Victoria has 5,195 dairy farms spread across three dairy regions - north, south-west and Gippsland.
The industry produces $1.8 billion of raw milk, most of which is processed into powdered or fresh milk, cheese and other dairy products.
The dairy sector is the largest agricultural industry in Victoria, accounting for more than 65 per cent of annual national milk production and with exports valued at $1.85 billion. Its major markets include Japan, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia.
