Dry seasons support
April 15, 2019: Farmers impacted by drought and dry seasonal conditions can now access more support with the opening of the Victorian Government’s Pasture Recovery and Management Grant Program and the Farm Support Fund.
The $2 million Pasture Recovery and Management Grant Program will support drought-affected farm businesses in East Gippsland and Wellington shires to restore non-irrigated pastures impacted by the extended dry conditions.
Grants of up to $5000 are available to eligible farm businesses on a dollar-for-dollar matching contribution basis.
Also opening today is the Victorian Government’s $1 million Farm Support Fund.
The Farm Support Fund is being delivered through an expansion to the Farm Business Assistance program to include more farmers in Northern and North West Victoria who are most at risk of financial stress due to ongoing dry conditions.
The Farm Business Assistance program will now be available to Farm Household Allowance recipients in 20 eligible Local Government Areas, providing a one-off payment of $2500 to assist with costs.
The Pasture Recovery and Management Grant Program and the Farm Business Assistance programs are being administered by Rural Finance, for more information please visit our Financial Support page.
