Food Source Victoria supports food producers and businesses to work together to grow exports and create new jobs.
By working together and taking a 'paddock to plate' approach, agri-food businesses can take advantage of:

- market knowledge,
- new skills and experience.
Food Source Victoria consists of:
- Grants to develop a growth plan (planning grants)
- Grants for an alliance of food producers and businesses to create jobs or boost exports (growth grants)
- Funding for short study and training courses to boost your businesses' growth and exports (scholarship program)

These grants enable eligible alliances and value chain partnerships to engage independent skilled advisers with private sector experience to develop a growth plan with clear actions.
Food Source Victoria Growth Grants
These grants support alliances and value chain partnerships to undertake activities that support export growth and create quality jobs.
Examples of successful grant applications:
Apple and pear growers in Victoria will benefit from the development of a financial model for a modern fruit packing facility that would service a number of local growers, improve competitiveness and increase export potential.
A Victorian grain industry grower group will explore creating farmer traceability for grain exports using precision agriculture.
Food Source Victoria Scholarship Program
Support for ambitious and innovative professionals in regional agri-food businesses, with a focus on business management, export readiness and entrepreneurship. At least $1 million of this $2 million program is dedicated to supporting training and professional development opportunities for women.
Examples of successful FSV Scholarship applications include:
A Shepparton stone and pome fruit grower received a scholarship to travel to California on a 10 day study tour to explore the latest developments in the stone-fruit industry. This will enable better evaluation of varieties suitable for commercial production in Victoria for export to the growing Asian market.
A seed producer from Yarck travelled to the International Seed Federation Congress to enhance his company's export opportunities and help promote Victoria's strengths as a quality provider of forage seed.
A recipient in the table grape industry will undertake an Advanced Diploma of International Business Management to better understand the processes involved in exporting to Asia, New Zealand and USA. This knowledge will be shared with growers to assist building their export capacity.
