The Victorian Government is committed to supporting the next generation of farmers develop and prosper, to ensure a bright future for Victoria's $13.1 billion agriculture sector. The Victorian Government provides opportunities for young people in agriculture to have a say and enhance their career.
The Young Farmers Advisory Council provides a strong voice for young people in agriculture. The Council also serves to develop the sector leaders of tomorrow.
The Council is a group of passionate young people from various agricultural industries and regions, who advise government on issues affecting young people in agriculture and on program delivery. Council members also act as young ambassadors to attract new entrants to the state's vibrant agriculture sector.
Highly motivated, skilled and dynamic young people in agriculture are currently being sought to join the Council. Prospective members are invited to submit an Expression of Interest.

Young farmers in Victoria can access scholarships of up to $10,000 to help boost skills and implement new on-farm initiatives.
The Victorian Government's Young Farmers Scholarship program aims to support young farmers to build productive and profitable careers in agriculture.
The fourth round of the Young Farmers Scholarships is open from 28 February until 24 April 2018.
Agricultural traineeships for school leavers in north-west Victoria
In 2016 the Victorian Government provided Agriculture Traineeships that employed 20 school leavers in drought affected north west Victoria.
