Setting up a live export NLIS database account
The National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) database is operated by NLIS Ltd. It holds movement records for NLIS accredited devices using their RFID and/or associated NLIS ID numbers, along with information regarding individual animals, residue, disease and market access statuses. This is a step by step guide to setting up a Live Exporter account on the NLIS database.
Accessing the NLIS Database
Live Exporters (including operators of quarantine properties/depots and their associated agents) must create a Live Exporter NLIS database account on the NLIS database and obtain a user ID and password in order to record cattle movements.
Live Cattle Export agents who do not have a single operating PIC (i.e. they use a number of properties for agistment, quarantine, feedlotting, etc.) can apply for an Agent PIC. This PIC can then be used to register for a live exporter account on the NLIS database.
For operators of quarantine properties/depots the PIC of the property can be used to apply for the database account.
To apply for an Agent PIC please contact our toll-free NLIS Helpline on 1800 678 779 during business hours.
