Bovine Johne's Disease
Bovine Johne's (pronounced 'yo-nees') disease (BJD) is a fatal wasting disease of cattle, goats, alpaca and deer. Bovine Johne's disease is far more common in dairy herds than in beef herds.
Changes to management of Johne's disease in cattle
Herd owners/managers should seek advice about the use of Silirum® vaccine from their veterinarian. Approval is not required from Agriculture Victoria for use of Silirum® vaccine.
