Reporting marine pests
The Fisheries Act requires people to report the possession, existence and location of any noxious aquatic species and provides powers to allow authorised officers to seize, remove and prevent the spread of noxious aquatic species.
Stopping the introduction of marine pests to Victoria and reducing the spread of existing pests to other parts of our coastline is an important process in managing these species.
If you suspect you have seen a marine pest not currently known to the location please report your sighting.
Providing a photo of the suspected marine pest is essential for identification purposes.
