Fruit Fly Action Plan
To improve the management of fruit fly horticultural industries, local communities and government must work together. To help coordinate this collaborative approach, a new five-year action plan was developed as part of a collaborative process with community, industry and government partners to provide a framework to link state-wide and regional action.
To oversee the delivery of the action plan a state-wide coordinator has been appointed. An advisory committee to oversee the delivery of the plan is currently being established, in addition to regional governance groups in key horticulture areas. The regional governance groups will develop and implement regional action plans in alignment with the state-wide plan.
Managing Fruit Fly – Regional Grants Program
The State Government is also supporting the action plan with the launch of a Managing Fruit Fly – Regional Grants Program.
Round one of the Regional Grants Program is now closed. Successful applicants will be notified early in 2017 and will be made public on this website soon after.
A second round of grants will be released later in 2017.
