Listening to our stakeholders
The Victorian Government is committed to establishing effective and pro-active fisheries consultation processes involving all fishing sectors. Consultation occurs at a number of levels with fisheries stakeholders on a variety of fisheries management issues.
We hold specific consultations and forums relating to proposed changes to the management of fisheries resources each year. Details of consultations under way and the process we follow are available on our Fisheries consultation page.
A statutory Fisheries Advisory Council has also been established that provides advice to the Minister on strategic fisheries management issues.
