Animal Welfare Fund – Grants program
The Minister for Agriculture, on behalf of the government, is offering financial support to not-for-profit organisations that improve the welfare of animals.
- animal shelters and rescue groups
- organisations promoting responsible animal ownership education
- community foster care networks
- groups that provide relief facilities and services during an emergency.
The Animal Welfare Fund has been developed in recognition of the excellent companion animal welfare services which are being delivered across Victoria by many not-for-profit organisations. These grants recognise that companion animals play a significant role in the lives of Victorians.
The small grants program is designed to provide up to $10,000 (GST free) for projects that benefit the welfare of companion animals. The program is not reliant on any matching cash contribution from the organisation for an application to be successful.
The large grants program provides grants from $10,001 up to $50,000 (GST free) for projects that benefit the welfare of companion animals. Preference is given to projects that leverage off other projects and/or to which some financial co-funding or in-kind contribution can be made by the project proponent to the funds being sought.
