Responsible Dog Ownership Course
The Responsible Dog Ownership Course is designed to give you some basic information about your legal responsibilities as a dog owner.
It's important to remember that all dog owners must take care of their dog and ensure that their dog does not pose a risk or a nuisance to other members of the community.
The course covers four main topics with tests at the end:
- Section 1 – Rights and Responsibilities
- Section 2 – Dog Welfare & Management
- Section 3 – Dog Behaviours
- Section 4 – Dog Training
- Section 5 – Tests.
Completion certificate and tests
To achieve a completion certificate, you must achieve a 90% pass grade in all tests that you enrol in.
Participants who fail to pass the core exam may take it a second time. If you fail a second time, you will need to re-enrol in the course.
When registering, if you selected that you own a Restricted Breed Dog, Declared Dangerous Dog, Declared Menacing Dog or a Guard Dog, you will be provided with extra information and an additional assessment.
