Cultivation of cannabis in Victoria

Cannabis is defined under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981 as a narcotic plant.

The cultivation of cannabis in Victoria is prohibited, unless otherwise approved by either State Government or Commonwealth Government.

Medicinal cannabis may be cultivated under the appropriate licences and permits from the Commonwealth Office of Drug Control.
