Climate ready farm tour and seminar
EVENT DESCRIPTION
9:30 am to 2:30 pm
This event gives farmers practical skills to manage soil, pasture, and farm decisions during dry and challenging conditions.
Join on-farm tours and expert presentations. Learn how to improve soil health, manage pasture, and make better financial decisions on your farm.
The day starts at Wild Ridge Farm in Badger Creek. You will take part in a guided farm tour.
Learn about:
- pasture assessment, renovation and re-establishment
- agronomy practices, including variety selection
- timing of sowing
- pest and disease management.
After lunch, the program continues at Yarra Valley ECOSS Community Environment Hub.
Take part in a second tour and short presentations on:
- farm financial management
- feed budgeting
- key decision points for drought planning and long-term sustainability.
This event is for:
- small to medium-scale farmers
- new and emerging landholders
- anyone interested in climate-ready farming.
You will have time to network with local experts, organisations, and other farmers. Build knowledge and strengthen your support network.
A catered lunch is included.
