EVENT DESCRIPTION

Soil carbon sequestration is a hot topic in agriculture, often promoted as a way to sequester carbon and offset emissions. Can changes to farming practices deliver long-term, measurable improvements in soil carbon stocks?

Join us for a webinar with leading soil scientist Professor Roger Armstrong, who will share findings from Agriculture Victoria’s long-term trial sites in the Wimmera and Mallee, which are the only long-term trial sites in southern Australia.

Roger will explore opportunities to boost soil carbon in low and medium rainfall cropping systems, the impact of different management strategies and rotations, and the limitations of current measurement methods. These long-term sites have been intensively measured for changes to soil carbon under differing rotations – so come and listen in to find out what’s changed and what hasn’t!
