The team is comprised of multiple specialists with skills ranging from market intelligence to business support services and in-market knowledge.

Pathways to Export program - Victorian team

Will Dalton

Will Dalton is the Manager of the Pathway to Export team. He is an experienced agricultural economist having worked in the private and public sectors. Will has networks and professional connections across Agriculture Victoria, Victoria’s Trade/Investment Network and within the Agri-food Industry.

Shelia Scopis

Sheila is a trade and private sector development expert and specialist with more than eight years field experience in South-East Asia. Her previous experience includes working with the United Nations Development Program and World Bank. Sheila has implemented projects funded by the European Commission and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Alice Ritchie

Alice has experience in the meat, wool and grains sector where she has worked as a climate risk knowledge broker and extension officer. Alice has worked with farmers and industry stakeholders. Alice has a deep knowledge of Victorian agricultural systems and issues facing exporters.

Shank Somers

Shank spent eight years within the financial services sector, working with clients in consumer and commercial lending. Shank has extensive networks across Regional Development Victoria having worked as an Investment and Trade Specialist, supporting Professional Services and Food & Fibre businesses.

In Market Specialists

Ian Thompson

Ian has over 20 years in the Federal Department of Agriculture Water and Environment as a Director with significant involvement in Biosecurity, Agricultural Export programs, Market Access and Trade. Most recently Ian has spent the past five years managing an integrated fishing and seafood processing operation and is based in the Victorian Government’s Trade and Investment Office in Kuala Lumpur office.

Emma Page

Emma Page has more than 15 years’ experience working in the tourism, hospitality, food, agriculture, environmental and government sectors. She is also a trade marketing and project management professional. Emma has a strong understanding of the agriculture and food sectors in the Gulf Cooperation Council area, with extensive networks across Australia and within the region. Emma is based in the Victorian Government’s Trade and Investment Office in Dubai.

Davis Xu

Davis has developed his professional career across both the private and public sectors with extensive experience in both Chinese and Australian businesses. In 2016 Davis joined AustCham Beijing, promoting Australian business interests in China and managing inter-governmental relationships with a focus on e-Commerce. Davis is based in the Victorian Government’s Trade and Investment Office in Beijing.
