Round one of the On-Farm IoT Trial

Round one of the trial commenced with an Expression of Interest (EOI) process from 5 July to 2 August 2019. All farmers who submitted an EOI have been contacted by Agriculture Victoria to inform them of the outcome of this process.

Farmers who were successful through the EOI process will be eligible to apply for a grant under round one of the trial.

The Catalogue of Apps & Devices

The Catalogue of Apps & Devices was released by Agriculture Victoria on 19 June 2020. The catalogue contains the range of IoT technologies available under the trial, selected through an open tender process in 2018.

If you are applying for a grant under round one of the trial, you can choose products from the catalogue to match the needs of your farm business.

Applying for a grant

If you are participating in round one of the trial, the process of applying for a grants is as follows:

  1. Contact your Industry Technology Coordinator to complete your Farm IoT Plan to identify the IoT technologies you’d like to invest in under the trial.
  2. Contact suppliers of IoT technologies to obtain a quote for selected technologies. You are also encouraged to speak to suppliers about any questions you have about products in the catalogue. Contact details for all suppliers can be found in the catalogue.
  3. You will receive an email from Agriculture Victoria containing a link to the online Application for Funding form.
  4. Compete and submit your grant application online by no later than 11.59pm 16 August 2020. You will need to upload your completed Farm IoT Plan and quotes from suppliers to support your grant application.

I’ve applied for a grant. What happens now?

Agriculture Victoria will assess your application in accordance with the Applicant Guidelines for the trial.

Agriculture Victoria will contact you with the outcome of your application within six weeks of the closing date.

If you are successful in applying for a grant, you will be offered grant funding to support the purchase of your selected apps and devices. You will be required to accept this offer by entering into a Grant Agreement with the department.

You will need to return your signed Grant Agreement to the department before you can purchase your apps and devices.

When can I purchase the technology I’ve selected from the catalogue?

You need to return your signed Grant Agreement to the department before you can purchase your apps and devices for the trial.

You will need to purchase your apps and devices within three months of the date on your Grant Agreement. More information can be found in the Applicant Guidelines.

Grant funding cannot be used for apps and devices you have purchased before signing your Grant Agreement and returning it to the department.

When will I receive my grant payment?

Once you have purchased your apps and devices, you will need to submit a claim for reimbursement of your grant.

How long will it take to install devices on my farm?

Please contact suppliers of apps and devices directly to discuss your installation needs.
