About Victorian Resources Online
Victorian Resources Online (VRO) is a trusted source of information about Victoria’s soils, landscapes, and natural resources. The information is used by land managers, researchers and students to help understand the environment and support better land use decisions. VRO includes maps, images, reports and data, making it a reliable resource for planning, education and environmental management.
Changes to access
Access to Victorian Resources Online has changed.
From July 2025, the VRO website transitioned to a downloadable resource and the website was decommissioned. This is due to changes in Victorian Government digital accessibility standards that mean the current site is no longer fit for purpose.
VRO content will soon be available in a different format:
- VRO will be available for download from the Public Record Office of Victoria (note this is due to go live early 2027).
- The Soil and Land Directory has now been transitioned to PROV, and can be downloaded from Public Record Office of Victoria.
