Condition 54C – Potato mop-top virus: Processing potato

The movement into Victoria of any potato intended for processing into prepared potato products that does not constitute fresh potato, (including, but not limited to, potato chips and hash browns) is prohibited unless
- originates from an area covered by an area freedom certificate, issued by an officer responsible for agriculture in the State or Territory from which the host material originated, certifying that the area from is known to be free of PMTV; or
- processing potatoes sourced from a property that is not an infested property or linked property
- free from soil and plant material; and
- graded and inspected and found free of visual symptoms of potato powdery scab

Definitions
‘processing potato’ means any potato intended for processing into prepared potato products that does not constitute fresh potato (including but not limited to, potato chips and hash browns).
‘infested property’ means any parcel of land which has had a positive detection of PMTV
‘potato powdery scab’ means the disease of potatoes caused by the soil-borne pathogen sponsor subterranea f.sp. subterranea.
‘linked property’ means any parcel of land which has a linkage to an infested property, including but not limited to properties:
- sharing a boundary with an infested property
- managed as a single operation across non-contiguous parcels which includes an infested property
- linked to an infested property through tracing of host material.
