Condition 49 - Pyriform Scale

Any host plant originating from an area covered by an Area Freedom Certificate declaring that the area from which the host material originated is known to be free of pyriform scale, may enter Victoria without restriction, otherwise‐

the movement into Victoria of any host plant is prohibited unless:

  1. treated with an insecticide registered for the control of scale, at rates specified on the label or in accordance with an APVMA permit; and
  2. be inspected at a minimum of 600 units or 2% of the plants in the consignment (whichever is greater), and no pyriform scale detected; or
  3. enters Victoria in accordance with a permit issued by Agriculture Victoria. To apply for a permit visit the Plant biosecurity permit page.

'host plant' means any plant or plant product, excluding fruit, seeds, cut flowers, bare-rooted trees without leaves and plants in tissue culture, belonging to any of the following plant families:

Acanthaceae, Agavaceae, Anacardiaceae, Apocynaceae, Aquifoliaceae, Araceae, Araliaceae, Asclepidaceae, Cannaceae, Caprifoliaceae, Caricaceae, Convolvulaceae, Ebenaceae, Elaeocarpaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Lauraceae, Lythraceae, Malpighiaceae, Malvaceae, Moraceae, Musaceae, Myricaceae, Myrtaceae, Oleaceae, Orchidaceae, Passifloraceae, Phyllanthaceae, Pittosporaceae, Punicaceae, Rubiaceae, Rutaceae, Saxifragaceae, Scrophulariaceae, and Verbenaceae.  

Documentation requirement: PHC, PHAC or Plant Health Declaration, BioSecure HACCP Biosecurity Certificate under ECCPPS14 or Permit.
