Truck wash and effluent disposal facilities review
An efficient, cost-effective and clean fleet of livestock transport vehicles is central to maintaining a profitable and disease-free livestock industry that meets the needs of livestock producers and Victoria’s large domestic and export meat processing sector.
In 2023 we commissioned a review, undertaken by RMCG, into the adequacy of Victoria’s livestock truck wash network.
In 2025, a new steering committee comprising of industry leaders in the livestock and transporting sector has been established to continue this important work.
RMCG has been contracted to expand on the findings of the 2023 report and provide further recommendations to address the gaps in Victoria’s truck wash network. This new work follows further truck wash closures in the state, which are putting pressure on livestock transporters and the broader industry.
