Anthrax in Victorian cattle

Anthrax is an infectious zoonotic bacterial disease of animals, caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis.

High pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI)

A new H7N8 outbreak has been confirmed on a central Victorian farm.

Varroa mite of honey bees

An exotic parasitic mite that kills honey bee colonies and transmits honey bee viruses. Varroa does not occur in Australia.
