Trapping and priority 1 ground baiting transects are located on public land:

  • north and east of Crooked River
  • surrounding Dargo
  • north-east and north-west of Castleburn
  • north of Tabberabbera
  • west of Seldom Seen
  • north and south of Stockdale
  • north and west of Glenaladale
  • north of Lindenow
  • east and south of Bullumwaal
  • north and north-east and Fairhope
  • west of Bruthen.

Trapping and priority 2 ground baiting transects are a network of tracks. These are located on public land:

  • surrounding Crooked River, Dargo, Waterford, Castleburn, Deptford, Bullumwall and Tabberabbera
  • north, south and west of Stockdale
  • north of Glenaladale
  • north of Lindenow
  • north, east and west of Fairhope
  • north, east and west of Bruthen
  • west of Seldom Seen.

The map shows within the Dargo and Bairnsdale wild dog management zone there is 203,898 hectares of public land, 101,262 hectares of land under the three-kilometre livestock protection buffer and 59,271 of private land. There are two Wild Dog Controllers, with a capacity for 6,000 trap nights and 190 kilometres of priority 1 ground baiting transects.

There is one Community Wild Dog Control group located within the Dargo and Bairnsdale wild dog management zone. The Glenaladale Community Wild Dog Control group includes private land near Briagolong, Stockdale and Glenaladale.

Aerial baiting occurs in remote areas of public land within the Dargo and Bairnsdale wild dog management zone. Aerial baiting occurs twice a year on public land:

  • south of Crooked River
  • surrounding Waterford
  • north of Castleburn
  • east and south of Dargo.

A remote ground baiting area covers public land south of Dargo.
