The Victorian Wine Strategy
As part of the 2023–24 State Budget, the Victorian Government announced funding for a new Victorian Wine Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for industry and government to collaborate and set new directions for the industry, which has experienced major changes over the last 3 to 4 years.
Strategy development
The strategy will be co-designed by the wine industry and the Victorian Government. We have formed a steering committee and have appointed a consultant to lead the industry engagement.
The strategy will be co-designed by the wine industry and the Victorian Government. Anyone with an interest in the future of Victoria’s prestigious wine industry is invited to have their say to inform the new Victorian Wine Strategy. Industry participants can attend one of 5 regional forums across the state, 3 online forums or read the Engagement Paper and make a submission.
To register for the forums, read the Engagement Paper or submit a response visit Engage Victoria.
Industry engagement
You can participate in industry engagement by visiting Engage Victoria to register for an industry forum and read the engagement paper.
We want to hear from all wine industry stakeholders about their aspirations for the industry. This includes everyone involved in the industry – from grapegrowers and winemakers to logistics and exporters, hospitality and retail, academics, supporting industries and consumers.
Consultant appointed
Agriculture Victoria has appointed atticusnow consultancy to undertake engagement with the wine industry, which will include interviews, regional forums and online workshops. All stakeholders in the industry will have an opportunity to help shape the future of the Victorian wine industry.
