BREEDPLAN

BREEDPLAN is an international beef cattle performance recording and evaluation scheme, based in Armidale, NSW. It is Australia’s national beef recording scheme.

BREEDPLAN is a modern genetic evaluation system for estimating the breeding value of cattle for a range of economically important production traits.

Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) are calculated by measuring the performance of individual animal’s traits including:

  • birth weight
  • growth
  • fertility
  • calving ease
  • carcase attributes

This combined data helps:

  • accelerate genetic progress
  • improve breeding operations
  • increase productivity and cattle prices

BREEDPLAN can be used for breeding stud or commercial cattle or both.

BREEDPLAN uses Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (BLUP) technology.

Breeders can find current Breed Average EBVs and Percentile Tables specific to a large range of breeds.

BREEDPLAN also offers a searchable database of Breed Societies in Australia and worldwide.
