Short technical videos
The following videos have been created to help Victorian farmers that are not overly familiar with AgTech to better understand:
- what types of technology might be available on the market
- what each of the solutions are designed to do
- what might be helpful for their own farming operations, and
- the benefits that they can offer.
Most of the videos go for one to two minutes and provide a simple description of the solution or technology, some use cases of the AgTech and the benefits they can provide to farmers.
While some of these technologies like weather stations, connectivity, gate monitoring and dashboards are applicable to all farming types, others are more farm type specific (eg. Stock health and stock body condition monitoring, dairy milk vat monitoring and stock water monitoring).
- Autonomous irrigation
Automated irrigation systems for farms that are essentially run by a computer to reduce time spent on manually managing irrigation.
- Autonomous fertigation
Automated fertigation systems for orchards, to reduce time spent on manually applying fertiliser.
- Irrigation monitoring
Automated monitoring of farm irrigation, to ensure irrigation is being applied at the correct times.
- Dairy milk vat monitoring
Automated monitoring of the milk vat, monitoring of level of milk in the vat.
- Grain silo monitoring
Device for automated monitoring of the level of grain in a silo, to assist with logistics.
- Haystack monitoring
Monitoring heat levels in hay bales or stacks, to monitor for risk of hay bale fires.
- Inversion towers
Devices for monitoring when an inversion occurs or is likely? To reduce risk of spray drift.
- Pump monitoring
Automatic monitoring of a pump, automated check of pump working, alerts for pump not working
- Gate monitoring
Monitoring if farm gates are open or closed.
- Stock water monitoring
Devices for monitoring the level of water in water troughs for livestock, automated check of water levels for stock.
- Soil moisture probes
Devices for monitoring the level of moisture or water in soils at depth.
- Dashboards
Integration of monitoring results into reports and indicators.
- Stock health monitoring
Monitoring the health of cattle.
- Body Condition Monitoring
Body condition monitoring of cattle.
- Connectivity
Why staying connected is important in AgTech.
- Weather stations
Farm tech or devices for monitoring the local weather.
