Rural Financial Counselling Service

The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) provides farmers, fishers, foresters and related small rural businesses that are experiencing, or at risk of, financial hardship with free and impartial financial information, options, decision support and referral services. The Rural Financial Counselling Service is co-funded by Commonwealth and State Governments.

Rural financial counsellors can help you to understand your financial position and the viability of your enterprise. They can help you develop and implement plans to improve your financial situation.

As part of their service, rural financial counsellors can also help you to:

  • identify your financial and business options
  • develop cash flow budgets and forecasts
  • negotiate with your lenders
  • access other professional services
  • access industry and government assistance and grants.
