Avian Influenza information for truck drivers
Movement controls are in place
Control orders prohibit the movement of birds, poultry products, feed and equipment on or off properties in designated Restricted and Control Areas surrounding the properties infected with avian influenza.
These controls impact truck movements, including grain or feed carriers delivering to poultry farms or producers.
Controls are limited to:
- poultry - means any of the following livestock reared in captivity -
- a chicken
- a turkey
- a guinea fowl
- a duck
- a goose
- a quail
- a pigeon
- a pheasant
- a partridge
- an emu
- an ostrich
- poultry products; including meat, eggs and manure
- equipment used in relation to housing, managing or processing poultry and poultry products, including clothing, buckets, containers.
These controls apply to the specified area near Euroa and will be in place until 11.59 pm on 8 March 2025 but may be extended.

Hume Highway
Note that the Hume Highway runs through the Control Area.
Drivers carrying prohibited poultry, poultry products, fittings etc are allowed to transit the Control Area via the Hume Highway as long as they remain on the Hume Highway while within the Control Area and do not stop within that area.
