Meet the Locust Champions

The Australian plague locust can cause serious damage to pasture, crops and horticulture.

Locust Champions are a network of Agriculture Victoria regional staff, located across Victoria, who can provide information and advice on locust activity and management.

If you see locusts or locust activity (egg-laying, hatching, banding and swarming) please notify Agriculture Victoria as soon as possible so that we can monitor locust populations and movement.

The Locust Champions have local knowledge of their region through their day-to-day work and can provide information about locust activity, forecasting and management strategies on your land or in your area.

The Locust Champions program was put in place to improve Australian plague locust preparedness in Victoria.
